The Location of the hotel is excellent . The staff are very friendly and the Breakfast was faultless.

The only problem I had with the Cliff hotel was the terrace bar stayed open to 1 am on Friday and Saturday nights this was directly below my window and the due to the noise and rowdiness it was not until 1:30 am I was able to get to sleep. The Manager said that all other nights the bar shut at 11pm. And did not appear sympathetic to my problem.

Friendly staff and Hotel a suprise when looking at the outside as it looks like aTravelLodge from the back entrance but inside lovely 1930's styling yet the rooms are modern with flat screen TV's and moderen bathrooms etc. The Hotel is still being decorated/upgraded so a fair comparison isn't that possible but I would imagine when it's completed it will be fantastic. Thats not to say at the moment it isn't comfortable!

Gorlston it self isn't that great a location but is in easy reach of Norwich

We were attracted by the price and the location. We were not able to stay for dinner on this occasion but look forward to doing so next time. The breakfast was exceptionally good. Well cooked and presented and a a very good choice of dishes. Our rooms were newly decorated 107 and 109. They were comfortable and stylish. The shower is very good indeed.

No complaints art all. Clearly there is renovation work going on but we were never inconvenienced by it. I unfortunately left my phone charger behind, and it hasn't been found. But the service atmosphere and value for money will bring us back again.

lovely decoration in the room, very good quality sheets parking was good too.

I was incredibly impressed with my entire experience at The Cliff Hotel. The staff were friendly, the food was of very good quality for the price and the terrace was lovely for enjoying a cup of tea overlooking the picturesque beach of Gorleston. The recent renovations have really given the hotel a luxurious and modern feel. The rooms were clean, comfy and looked incredible. The beds were very comfy, large and the sheets were all clean.

Our only complaint would be that a few areas of the hotel are still in need of renovation - although when I spoke to the manager he assured me that these are due to be renovated early this year. I really am looking forward to going back and seeing the place once everything is completed. I would recommend The Cliff Hotel to everybody - the recent renovations make the place very good value for money!

Value for money, luxury lounge and bar. The staff were excellent and very friendly, nice garden and sea-view, car parking was no problem, the breakfast was excellent and good portions

Although there was a restaurant in the hotel but the menu for evening meals was disappointing and the same every day, it did not change while we were there. The tv was old and was not clear .The hotel needs updating

For my job I travel all aroung the UK and Ireland so I pay attention to hotels that I stay in. We have stayed in the cliff before and it is fair to say that improvemets are being made. The new bar is fatastic and very relaxing. the food is excellent value for money and the portions are very good !!! (we could have had one between two) Yes the room was tired, however, it had everything you needed. A lick of paint and new curtains would make all the difference. They are trying to complete rooms over the course of time and lets be fair they can not complete all the work over night ! Our booking did say that building work was being undertaken and noise maybe expected. This was also on the website. Out of the two main hotels I will continue to stay in this one. I look forward to summer evening on the terrace!!!

Give it a try and see for yourself !!!

As soon as we had complained we were moved to a room much further away. To note though - if these rooms were full we wouldn't have been able to move - plus these were all suites so if you were looking to book a 'quiet' room from the outset it would potentially cost a lot more. I would be very careful given the routine late night disco music in booking this hotel for business or if you are a family with young children. The 'adult party vibe' spilled over into the foyer and the car park (shouting and swearing at midnight). However for hen parties (and it looked like there were two on the night we were there) or for young people looking for a party atmosphere then this suits perfectly.

We travelled up for a medical course at the hospital on the Saturday so just wanted a relatively nice room where we could rest and get some sleep overnight. The room we booked was a 'deluxe double' and seemed perfectly serviceable. Until we returned from dinner at 22:00. Loud disco music could be heard in the room - coming from the bar which was diagonally beneath. Upon calling reception we were told the music would continue until 1am and that this wasn't a special function - this was normal for this hotel.

New Bar is good, Bar food excellent, staff very freindly

Very good location. They have improved the decor and amenities, especially the bar, considerably since my last visit. I had a very good room, modern & beautifully appointed

Maybe the room improvements were very recent and these are minor things, but I would have appreciated the following in my room: A make-up/do not disturb notice for the door A box of tissues in the bathroom A toilet roll holder & bin in the bathroom A soap dish or ledge in the shower for soap, shower gel, shampoo when being used

      Friendly staff

Although the hotel is going through a refurbishment, there were no signs of any work being done.

The hotel was nice & presentable to look at. Our room was nice & quite modern in decor. The staff in general were very helpful & polite. The terrace/ conservatory overlooking the beach is amazing, & the food was really lovely as well. Generally a good stay.

We found the noise from the bar to early hours in the morn abit annoying & the noise from pigeons collecting on part of the hotels roof all night making noise not good either. They could think of ways to get rid of these pigeons nesting.
